Hell Week

Every January (and sometimes once through the summer) I go through a HELL WEEK, to shock my body and mix it up a bit as well as test the limits of my strength, endurance and constitution. I know it's quite an outdated training method, but I like doing it once in a while.

Basically I'm hitting my body really hard and purposely over training it... Here's what I'm doing this week...

Monday noon- Chest and Biceps, VERY heavy with the chest with reps of only 5 or 6 and very light with the bis reps of 12. And I'm doing this as a super set... For example, DB chest press followed immediately with a BB curls, 1 minute break and repeat.

Monday evening- Same body parts but lighter weights and longer super sets. For example DB bench presses, followed immediately by BB curls, followed immediately by push ups, followed immediately by DB curls, 1-2 minute rest and repeat.

Tuesday noon- Same protocol as Monday morning but working back and triceps.

Tuesday evening- Same protocol as Monday evening but with back and triceps

Wednesday noon- Same protocol as Monday morning but working shoulders and legs.

Wednesday evening- Same protocol as Monday evening but with shoulders and legs.

Thursday- Same as Monday

Friday- Same as Tuesday

Saturday- Same as Wednesday

Sunday- Rest

Next Monday back to regular schedule. Usually the first week back to my regular training I'm still fairly week and recovering, but the second and third week back there usually some noticeable growth and that's what's important!

I should add just before these Hell Weeks I eat ALOT and during them I eat A LOT MORE. I eat fairly clean, but A LOT. Stressing my body this much I really need sufficient calories so I don't just simply collapse! (I also need the calories for recovery, to have enough energy to push myself etc)

Speaking of calories... someone emailed me the other day and asked if I cheated during Christmas...... YA! BIG TIME everyday! I was running around 10,000+ calories almost everyday for about 2 weeks. There was one day I had a whole packet of bacon, a large pizza, a KFC buffet, a dozen doughnuts, a couple of boxes of chocolates, and still consumed a few whey shakes and meal replacements! I basically took the glove off and ate whatever I wanted to for those 2 weeks. It was fun, but now I don't want to see crap like that for months!

As a personal punishment for cheating so bad and for now weighing in at over 200 lbs I've also decided not to shave till I'm under 200 lbs again. My wife's a little worried this bulk might last a while and the beard might be there till April. I'm allowing myself to shave my neck and cheeks to make it look OK, but no trimming or anything till I'm under 200lbs again! CRAP!

Pain.... Hell Week is hard on my mind and body.... 3 more days..... Uhhhhhh

BTW- I don't suggest this for ANYONE..... I'm just mental I think...
