American Idol - Part 234564

Some of the comedy I find the funniest, and laugh the hardest at is when people do or claim ridiculous things, but keep a "straight face" about them and act as if they are 100% serious. Did that sentence make any sense?

Case in point...

The Official Bucky Conspiracy Site

Now in case you haven't been following American Idol, (and I still can't believe I am) Bucky is the "male hick" on the show. Everyone on the show is a stereotype; There is "the rocker", "the geek", "the fat lady", the "dumb female hick with a heart of gold", the "ladies man" etc etc. Now Bucky actually has a great tone to his voice, very Greg Allman in timbre. His biggest problem is his nerves, you can actually see this guy's hands shaking as he sings. If he could calm down he'd be great. If you saw him performing in a bar he'd blow your mind I'm sure. Anyway...

What this website claims is that Bucky and his brother Rocky are actually from England, not the Southern States, and that both are in on a huge conspiracy. They claim both where hired by Simon and the producers of American Idol,

"Tired of "useless U.S. talent", the conspirators planned this elaborate scheme
to prove not only that the American people are easily manipulated but also that
they are far less talented than the "superior British".

William Covington, university graduate and a medieval museum curator in North Yorkshire England and his twin brother were given fake id's, and a trailer trash make over in an attempt to sway the "Wal-mart shopper vote." Each night the brothers switch off in order to stay rested and fresh.

Of course the web site goes on about this in great detail. I'm kind of surprised they haven't taken the joke much further on the site though. I mean this kind of thing is hilarious and practically writes it's self once you come up with the core idea idea. Anyway, check the site out for a laugh.
