What Was America Thinking
I don't watch much TV.
I figure if I live to the average male age I only have about 350,000 hours left to live. Factor in the time I sleep and I suddenly only have about 250,000 hours to live. Spending an average of even 4 hours a night, which is WAY below the average, would add up to a 1/5 of those hours! A 5th of my life staring at mindless programing aimed to sell me shit I don't need or want.... wow.
And that's why I watch very little TV, maybe an hour a day. Those 250,000 hours are pretty precious and NEVER come back. No one has ever wished in their last moments that they had watched more TV. Do I want to spend 20% of the rest of my life looking at TV or spending it with my family, friends and doing productive things... Do I even have to ask?
So anyway, past few weeks I got sucked into the American Idol try outs. That was my only TV time... And then there was Becky O'Donohue...
From the moment I saw her audition she could do no wrong in my eyes! Then, even better, we found out she had a twin sister! And even better, they had done photo shoots for Maxim and Stuff magazine in the past.... Oh, stop my beating heart...... Sexy, rock and roll twins... One second while I catch my breath....
Anyway... WHAT WAS AMERICA THINKING! She was the first one voted off American Idol. Even if she had been the best singer in the competition I think she still would have been voted off right away. There is a fine line with women... Look good and that's OK. Look average, even better. BUT, look UBER HOT and they turn on you suddenly like a pack of wolves. Instantly the "She must be a slut" factor kicks in. Becky fell prey to this sad social phenomena. (Don't send me hate mail, and don't take me that fuckin serious)
No one really knows how good or bad she was as a singer. The guys where too busy wiping drool off their faces and imagining different scenarios with her and her sister. While the women where too busy hating her guts and trying to figure out whether she had slept with Simon or Ryan to get where she was.
Honestly, if anyone but Paris wins, the thing is rigged... but they could have at least kept the best eye candy around for a while. Well, we still have Kelly Pickler and Heather Cox to drool over. One good thing about her being voted off.... Her and her sister might end up in Playboy or Penthouse quicker.

Haha. Actually, I thought I was just watching reruns over here...
but that's exactly what I was thinking... I wonder what the demographics of the typical viewing audience is like.
