Yes, this is apparently real.... Russian scientist Oleg Gadomsky, a professor of quantum and optical electronics (what ever the fuck that is) has patented, basically, an invisibility cloak. So far it only works when the person or object isn't moving..

How's it work? How the fuck do I know? Something to do with nanoparticles of gold and a sub-micron stratum of microscopical colloid golden particles. What, do I look like a science guy? I have no clue what that means.

So I do a little net searching on the subject and find THIS VIDEO and THIS VIDEO... If you didn't click and see those videos go back and watch them, the first one in particular will blow your mind.

All I can think about is how great these will be for criminals, terrorists and assassins. I really can't see any good legitimate reasons to use these. "I want to be invisible getting groceries with my family" is just stupid. "I want to be invisible so I can hide from authorities, get next to important people or get into restricted places" sounds more like what they would be used for.
