That Drip In My Tub
So, That drip in my bathtub I wanted fixed for my birthday, is still going strong. Stronger than ever actually. The washers in there are totally fucked at this point. BUT I really don't want to get into shutting the water supply off and ripping the whole shower thingy apart etc etc.
OK, I admit it, I just hate doing plumbing work... It's just one of those irrational stupid things we all have. Plumbing is one those irrational stupid things I hate. I'll rebuild a room just for fun, but I won't do plumbing when it's really a priority. Crazy eh?
So I thought I'd measure how much is actually coming out of the tap for fun... I tested 3 times and the average amount collected in 5 minutes was... 200 ml or 7 oz! And that was with the tap as tight as can be!
That means I'm leaking 2 1/2 liters an hour, 57 liters a day, 400 liters a week, 21,000 liters a year! 4 1/2 thousand gallons a year for you American readers! (All figures are rounded)
So in a year I'm dripping the amount a small 9' x 17' pool down the drain... Mr. Environment 2005, I am not! No wonder my award never came!
I guess the tap in the tub is gonna have to be on my list for this weekend... Well, along with building a box in my son's closet to cover some structural stuff, mudding, sanding and priming the bathroom downstairs and getting a start on the bookcase for the living room. Definitely the tub this weekend.... maybe...
UPDATE- As of 4:18pm today.... The drip is fixed!!! I couldn't stand it anymore!

Just rememeber... freshly running water is better than a stagnant pool.
