The Ultimate Fighter 2- Episode 2
Much, much, much better episode!!! Team selection, a new heavy weight, the first challenge and the first fight! OK, a few thoughts....
Again, Luke is a freak! And watching him talk to the camera is still like pulling teeth. BUT, like I said last week, I think he's going to do well... He was the LAST guy picked for a team, which was a shame. The other guys just don't think he has it. When it came challenge time it was Luke that was pivotal in his team winning it. The guy had 2 contestants from the other team in holds! I can't wait to see him fight...
Speaking of which, we had our first first...... welterweight... Josh vs. Melvin. Josh has barely been on camera so far, Melvin won't shut the fuck up, it's all "I'm the greatest" "I'll take anyone" etc, the kid has a big mouth. With reality shows you never really know if they are showing a guy like Melvin a lot because he's gonna go far, or because he's gonna disappear...
Second round things slowed down a lot. (There was a point where they circled each other for close to a minute and a half). They were tired and never really got thier wind back for the rest of the fight. Maybe it's the challenges, the training or the way they are living in the group home, but both slowed down real fast.
By the third round the fight was over, it was obvious Melvin had some VERY good moves, but just wasn't seasoned enough to deal with Josh's game.
Quick question though... What's up with all the product placement and ads? The "Right Guard Challenge", Dana in a different T-shirt with a logo or web site address on it every 2 minutes (and don't tell me that's not planned or paid for), "Transporter 2" posters in the background and that Xyience crap all over the place... It's nice your show is doing well, but do you have to try to make money off everything in every shot Dana? Go back to your suit at least, you look like crap in those T-shirts.
BTW--- On the Official site they are starting to take applications for "The Ultimate Fighter 3". Very cool, looks like it's gonna be around for a while!!!
